When i bring up this repeated failure of researchers to prove transmission, be it the flu and colds, "COVID," "HIV,"..., defenders of official narratives, even those who are critical of countermeasures such as masks and vaccines, almost always attribute this to the alleged "incompetence" of the researchers. Never mind that they believe the medical profession from which these researchers come out of regarding the validity of the germ/contagion theory. :-) I've heard regarding Rosenau that "science has developed a lot since 1918," as if this was a matter of treating the disease rather than transmission (e.g. an Irish doctor named Gerry, at the 2023 gathering of Doctors For Covid Ethics.) And after all else fails, they appeal to "common sense," saying "i was around sick people, and i got sick."

Transmission is never allowed to be wrong; it is merely declared absent for reasons proposed after the fact.”

A multi-billion dollar allopathic/pharma industry is in large part built upon assumptions of contagion therefore the reluctance to question transmission is a result of the financial interests of those interlocking cartels. Full disclosure would challenge those interests.
